ITINERARY

DAY 1 - NAIROBI - SAMBURU GAME RESERVE

Morning drive from Nairobi to Samburu Game Reserve stopping at the Equator for a photo opportunity. Lunch at safari lodge, built on the Uaso Nyiro River. Late afternoon game viewing drive. Overnight at Samburu Lodge, or similar. [LD]

DAY 2 - SAMBURU GAME RESERVE

Early morning game viewing drive in Samburu. Reticulated Giraffe, Beisa Oryx, Samburu Ostrich, and Gerenuk are found only in this sanctuary. Return to lodge for a late breakfast. Rest of day at leisure. Late afternoon game viewing drive. Overnight at Samburu Lodge, or similar. [FB]

DAY 3 - SAMBURU - MOUNT KENYA FOREST

Travel south to the Mount Kenya forest, arriving at Mountain Lodge, deep in the forest. Floodlit waterhole. Lunch. Afternoon escorted walk through the forest with local guide. Return to lodge. Spend the night watching wildlife from your room. Overnight at Mountain Lodge, or similar. [FB]

DAY 4 - MOUNT KENYA FOREST - LAKE NAKURU

Morning departure for Lake Nakuru, where thousands of flamingo feed in the shallow waters. The Rothschild giraffe, black, and white rhino have been transplanted to this area to replenish these species. Lunch. Late afternoon game and bird viewing around the lakeshore. Overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge, or similar. [FB]

DAY 5 - LAKE NAKURU - MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE

Travel along the floor of the Great Rift Valley and enter Masai Mara Game Reserve. Game viewing en route to safari lodge located on summit of hill overlooking the open plains. Late afternoon game viewing. Overnight at Keekorok Lodge, or similar. [FB]

DAY 6 - MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE

Early morning and late afternoon game viewing drives. Herds of wildebeest and zebra wander across the grasslands, especially during annual migration from June to November. Overnight at Keekorok Lodge, or similar. [FB]

DAY 7 - MASAI MARA - NAIROBI

Return to Nairobi arriving at hotel or airport early afternoon, where tour ends. [B]
