ITINERARY
DAY 1 - SUNDAY OR TUESDAY JOHANNESBURG - MPUMALANGA
Travel to the ' Province of the Rising Sun ', Mpumalanga, via the historic towns of Witbank, Dullstroom and Lydenburg. Visit the Lone Creek Waterfalls before arriving at your elegant hideaway. Enjoy a delectable dinner. Overnight in Sabie [D]
DAY 2 - MONDAY OR WEDNESDAY MPUMALANGA - KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
View the Mac Mac Waterfalls then visit the historic town of Pilgrims Rest, where the richest alluvial gold deposits in South Africa were discovered in 1873. Continue exploring the Panorama Route including the Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondavels, Bourkes Luck Potholes, Gods Window and various waterfalls. Late afternoon visit the Kruger National Park for a short introductory game drive. This evening, dine under the stars in a traditional African Boma (weather permitting). Overnight near Hazyview [BD]
DAY 3 - TUESDAY OR THURSDAY MPUMALANGA
Enter the Kruger Park for an early morning game drive (or book a safari in open safari vehicle - optional & for own account) with breakfast en-route. Continue game viewing en route to our next overnight at a private game lodge bordering the Park. Late afternoon game viewing in an open safari vehicle with an experienced ranger; return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Overnight near southern border of Kruger Park [BD]
DAY 4 - WEDNESDAY OR FRIDAY MPUMALANGA - MAPUTOLAND
Early morning game drive before breakfast. Our journey continues through the mountain Kingdom of Swaziland. Late afternoon arrival at our lodge in Maputoland, an extraordinary area of undisturbed African wilderness. Dinner is served in the Boma under the African sky (weather permitting). DAY 5 - THURSDAY OR SATURDAY MAPUTOLAND - DURBAN
Early morning safari in nearby Hluhluwe Game reserve followed by breakfast. Visit St Lucia, a World Heritage Site, and enjoy a river cruise on the estuary with opportunity to view pelicans, fish eagles, hippo and crocodiles. Continue south through sugar cane plantations along the Indian Ocean seaboard, arriving in Durban in the late afternoon, where the tour ends. [B]
